IMAGINE PEACE FOUNDATION
presents
A Year of Gifting Week 29
The Gathering Place
I
was introduced to a wonderful place a decade ago by my dear friend, Barbara,
she had a sweet spot in her heart for this organization and she was
enthusiastic and committed to letting people know how important she thought
this community drop-in center is. I can
still see her smile, her petite frame with a whimsical hat on her head piling all
kinds of donations into her Hummer and heading off to Denver to contribute what
she collected. My friend has since made
her transition and it's in her memory that this week we pay honor to her
beloved charity. Please join me this
week and donate a minimum of $3-$10.00 to support women and children who are
experiencing homelessness and poverty.
Donate money, time or as my friend so often gathered, diapers for the
babies. This holiday I'm grateful that I
crossed paths with a loving person like Barbara, she radiated fun, compassion
and commitment to the people and the community she lived in. She was an angel while she was here and I
know she continues her good work in the next dimension.
About
Us
The Gathering Place is Denver's only daytime drop-in center for
women and children who are experiencing homelessness and poverty. We provide
programming and services to an average of 260 women and children every day.
Our Mission
The Gathering Place exists to support women
and their children experiencing homelessness and poverty by providing a safe
daytime refuge and resources for self-sufficiency.
Our Philosophy
We believe that women, their children, and
transgender individuals experiencing homelessness and poverty deserve a safe
and caring place to re-establish their lives.
We also believe that everyone, regardless of circumstances, is
worthy of respect and is a valuable human being just as they are... http://www.tgpdenver.org/index

I am only one, but I am one. I
cannot do everything, but I can do something. And I will not let what I
cannot do interfere with what I can do.
~Edward Everett Hale
I have found the paradox that if I love
until it hurts, then there is no hurt, but only more love. ~Mother Teresa
